How to Start a New Routine

Every week, I try to give you some ACTIONABLE advice to help you to achieve your goals quicker and more completely.
This week, we are talking about how to start a new routine!
With many of the people that I help, a lot of their problems revolve around a lack of a plan, habit or routine for how to make their health and wellness a priority in their life!
A new routine is rarely started on a whim. You may get the inspiration to change your routine on a whim, but successfully integrating your new routine into your life may take more effort.
The first thing you need is to research your new habit or act. Find out as much as you can about it before you hop in.
This can eliminate a lot of the surprises that you may encounter as you start your new habit. For example, let's say that you want to add exercise into your routine. Some questions you might want to have answered before you make a plan is: how often should I do this? How long should I do this? What will I feel when I do this? Where can I go to do this? What are some things that I can do for this?
There are many questions, but the more that you answer, the less likely that something will come up that surprises you and throws you off track when you start!
Want to start? Try this:
-Think of a habit that you might like to add to your daily routine. It might be exercise, improved nutrition, reading a book, getting more/better sleep, drinking more water, etc.
- Work to research the questions that you have about this topic. Keep in mind, you will likely not think of ALL of the questions, but this is a good start to get you going!
Don't worry about thinking of ALL of the questions. More will come to you as you get going! Additionally, don't let a little "bad" news keep you from pursuing your new habit. If it is important, you can work through the problems.
Stay tuned this week as we continue to talk about starting a new routine for you.
