Make More Time: Discipline

In this series, we have been talking about how you can help yourself to "create more time". You see, I often hear about the lack of time that so many have in their life and how they cannot dedicate any of that time to their fitness or health goals.


In this series, we have talked about making a plan, eliminating distractions, saying no to functions that don't allow us to pursue our goals and utilizing parts of the day that no one else does.


Today, we are talking about discipline. We are talking about the discipline that it takes to hold yourself to do the things you are supposed to do. The discipline that it takes to make a schedule and then follow through with it...

You see, everyone thinks that they need motivation to achieve their goals. They think that if they are motivated, then they will reach the milestones that they have for themselves. However, motivation can be lacking some days...what will you do on those days?


What do you do when everything seems to be stacked against you? What do you do when the world seems to be holding you back? You see, those are the days when your DISCIPLINE will carry you through!


It's not sexy...nobody ever has an instagram post talking about how many days in a row they woke up at 5:00 in the morning to make it to work out...no one talks about the times that they said no to going to the bar with their friends on Wednesday evening so that they could be ready to workout and work the next day...

But the ones with the discipline to actually do those hard things are also the ones that are likely living a life that we may be jealous of. They may be the ones that look super amazing in a swimsuit...they may be the ones that are living debt free...they are the ones that have the ability to save up and pay for the vacation that they want most because they have been disciplined where they need to be!


So when you are looking at your plan, thinking that you want to change it because it is hard...when you want to change it because "you would rather" go do something else, just know that having DISCIPLINE is going to allow you to reach your goals when you have failed in the past!


Having the discipline to get up early or stay up late to work out...holding yourself to the schedule that you have set for yourself...not allowing yourself to be distracted by the urgent things that are going on around you as you complete the tasks you need to...these are all signs of discipline and they are going to get you MUCH further than any diet pill or quick fix that you might seek out!
