Only the Best: Jerky

As we start the new year, many of us may be starting to lose some of our motivation that was driving us towards our goals...


Many of our goals revolve around possible weight loss and improving our overall health. This means that our diet is of utmost importance as we chase these goals!


Many times, people get tired of eating the same or similar things that they have in the past, my hope with this series is to give you some good ideas for snacks that you can have that will help you to achieve your goals and keep you hungry for more, without being hungry (see what I did there?!).


One of my favorite snacks to have to keep me within my goals is jerky! It honestly doesn't even matter what kind! Beef, turkey, deer, elk and any other animal that you enjoy is totally fine!


There are a variety of flavors, brands and styles out there for you to choose from and almost all of them are pretty healthy for you (avoid a lot of added sugar!). Choose one and try it out, you will be happy that you did!


This is a great snack because it is full of protein for your body. Protein is also a VERY FILLING macronutrient because of the signals that it sends to your brain while you are eating it! That is why it is very difficult to eat a 72 oz steak!



Additionally, the high protein of jerky is going to help your body to repair itself from all of the workouts that you have been doing. Protein is necessary to build muscle that gets broken down from workouts. You can't build it up if you don't have the building materials!
