What Does That Mean?

Over the years, we have been asked many times, “Why CrossFit Backward Arrow? What is Backward Arrow? What does it mean?”
Our name comes from this quote:
“An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it’s going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming.” – Paulo Coelho
Why does this mean so much to us?
We know that struggle means progress. Like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, the struggle that it faces forces it to build the strength and endurance in it’s muscles to fly. The same happens within our walls.
Every day, we want to be the force and struggle that you must face to be stronger…to be pulled backward, before you are launched into something great in your life.
We care about more than just your physical strength. The lessons and hardships that you face also shape you and your mental fortitude. They make you less averse to risk, less likely to fear failure and less likely to quit when you do fail! ALL of these are positives that you will see when you work consistently in these walls…and we are so excited to guide you through it all!
